Glendale Adventist Medical Center, The Cardiac Clinic at Lee Hughes Medical Building
Glendale, CA
The Cardiac Clinic was designed with the patient in mind. Many Cardiac Clinic visitors face challenges of anxiety, high blood pressure and lengthy test sessions to diagnose heart‐health issues; therefore the new clinic was designed to be a relaxing environment of calm, tranquility, and easy way finding.
The exterior of the Cardiac Clinic space has a prominent eyebrow soffit with a natural tile exterior, which provides a welcoming and obvious point of entry. Colored LED lighting accents the eyebrow soffit, and full height glazing provides visitors a visual connection between the hallway and reception. LED lighting is featured through reception for continuity.
This project's design included a state‐of‐the‐art Nuclear Medicine Camera with 4‐slice CT and all electrical requirements. Versatile controls were utilized for LED lighting, and color LED lighting areas include an RGB base, which allows users to adjust lighting to any color they prefer.
In development of the space, our team used 3D BIM technology, which helped our team analyze potential conflicts in infrastructure layout and constructability long before the start of construction.
