Pacific Grove Hospital is an acute Psychiatric healthcare facility that was originally constructed
in 1959. The owner's intent was to modify and upgrade this hospital facility to meet the current California CBC 2013, Title 24 for construction and Fire, Life & Safety Regulations of an Acute Psychiatric Hospital and the California Title 22 Health and Safety Code for the Operations if a Mental Health Facility.

In addition, SWA Architects upgraded the Nurses station and Medication Room to provide
additional safety and made modifications to the existing Observation room, Patient Rooms, Group Room, Day Room, Intake room, and Showers for anti-ligature safety.
